The Last Few Weeks.......

Where have the Anderson's been?
I know it is a question that you all have been asking yourselves, and I finally have the answer for you. We have been right here, however, two weeks ago I got REALLY sick (I slept for 37 hours straight) and just this past weekend finally felt like myself again. It has been a long, sick, few weeks for me and so I've been terrible about updating our blog.
The week that I was really sick (the first 4 days) I missed Jack's jog-a-thon at school. And even though at the time, I really didn't know that I was missing anything when I finally was "back among the living" I was crushed to miss this big event at Jack's school. But, Daddy took the day off from work -- to take care of the boys while I slept, and to support Jack at the jog-a-thon. Aunt Elizabeth went with Daddy and Nick to watch and cheer Jack on and she took pictures to share with me when I finally was feeling better.
So, here is Jack running in the jog-a-thon at school!!!

Even Nick and Daddy ran a few laps with Jack!!!
At the end the boys were really hot, but Jack did a great job running 21 laps and raising $106.00 for his school. Thanks to all of you who supported Jack and his jog-a-thon!!!!

Saturday I was finally feeling better and was able to go to Miramar for our weekly soccer game to support our favorite team and player!

The Stingers!!!!

Our favorite player -- #16 Jack Anderson!!!

The Stingers on the field!!!#16 in action!!! After soccer Uncle Nick and I took Jack over to the flight line at Miramar to attend the "Where Science Takes Flight" Science Fair!!! Jack had a great time exploring all the exhibits and learning from all the great Marines that were there to share their love of science and flight with the kids.

Jack got to visit Crash, Fire and Rescue and try on their protective gear -- which he said was really heavy and hot!!
But, the highlight of the science fair was the helicopter and jet displays!!! Jack loved being able to sit in the helicopter cockpit and checking out the F-18 up close and personal.

Then we came home and Nick did a lot of this all day......And Koa enjoyed his backyard and laying around in the sun!!!
The weather was finally warm enough and we enjoyed our grilled dinner (thanks Uncle Nick for the great steak) outside!!! The boys loved eating outside and we look forward to lots of outdoor dining all summer long!!!
This past week happened like a normal week. Jack went to school and I each day felt better and more like myself. Jack finished the school week and is very excited because now he is on spring break for the next 10 days. I have lots planned for us to do this coming week off from school to keep us busy and entertained. But its the weekend and the start of a weekend could only mean one thing here -- Soccer!!!

Saturday we were back on the soccer fields of Miramar again to watch "big yellow" in what was the most exciting game of the season so far. The kids had a GREAT game!!! Jack stopped about 6 goals while in the box, and the game ended in a tie!!! It was so EXCITING all the parents were out of our seats and cheering on our kids!!! AWESOME!!!
My favorite player got an a little banged up during the game -- but that didn't stop him!!! Here he is at half time getting a drink and relaxing for a few minutes!!! Check out that knee!!!

After soccer we came home and then headed out to enjoy a beautiful San Diego day. We decided to take the boys over to visit the USS Midway!!!!
The boys had a great time checking out this ship!! Jack loved seeing the brig, the chow hall, "where everybody lived", but most of all both Jack and Nick loved checking out the aircraft on the flight deck of the ship.

We really enjoyed our time on the Midway!!!
After we left the ship we headed over to Coronado to go to the beach for a few hours. A walk on the beach with these boys is one of my favorite things in the entire world to do!!!

It was a perfect weekend!!!

If you want to see more pictures from soccer, the Midway and Coronado please check us out here: www.dropshots.com/theandersonfamily

Check back this week -- we have a lot going on!!

Tonight we have BIG plans -- so I'm sure there will be lots of pictures to share!!!

Until next time...............love from San Diego

Great family picture!
I'm glad you're feeling better. I think there should be a law against moms getting sick. :)
And I must say, I was very excited to see that Jack liked the science fair--that's fantastic! I love that Jack enjoys learning and that he can see all the cool things you can do when you learn....
And Nick looks like he's rockin' it on that balance bike. Very impressive!
