I can't believe that summer is over and that it is time to go back to school.
Last week we got Jack's supply list and we headed out to Target to go shopping. Jack got everything he needed and got to pay for it all by himself with the money he got from Grammy and Pops. He thought that was so great and loved shopping for new school supplies. Thanks Grammy and Pops!
Last night we got all of Jack's new supplies out and got them all ready for him to take with him for the 1st day of school.
Check out all the stuff you need for 2nd grade!
Oh my gosh, did I just say 2nd grade? How can that be right -- my boy is in 2nd grade already? I can remember when Jack was born my grandfather said to me "Enjoy this baby because before you know it you will be taking him to his 1st day of school and then you will blink and you will be dropping him off at college." Wow, Grandpa you were right!!!
This morning Jack woke up early and ready to start his day!
He says to me "so Mom, do you think I look taller today?"
I looking a little perplexed at him said "taller then yesterday?"
He laughs and says "No, Mom, not taller then yesterday, taller then on my first day of 1st grade!"
"Yes, buddy you look taller today!!"
After breakfast, Jack brushed his teeth, got dressed and was ready to head off to school!
But first -- a 1st Day of School picture in our front breezeway!!!
We drove up to school and oh my gosh it was crazy busy this morning!
We drove up to school and oh my gosh it was crazy busy this morning!
We parked our car and walked up the hill and waited at the light to cross the street to school!
Then it was time for us to leave, the kids were asked to move to the carpet and Mrs. Kenyon started the day!
I hope he has a great 2nd grade year but gosh, I wish these years would slow down a little bit -- I'm not ready to take him to college just yet!!!
Until next time...............
love from San Diego

we saw school buses go by our house and told john the big kids were going to school again. he asked about our neighbor then said, "jack?" and we told him, yes, jack is in school, too. john is definitely a big fan of "jack and nick."
